The Indira Gandhi National Open University offers admission to its distance learning Master of Computer applications course to the learners from all over the country. It has been developed by School of Computer & Information Sciences (SOCIS). It’s a three-year professional master degree in the field of computer application. The admission is offered by university every year in both January and July academic cycles.
Students have the option to leave the programme after the first-year completion as they will receive the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) certificate. For obtaining MCA degree they need to successfully complete all the required courses in three years including the project work.

Programme Objective
The main objective behind the introduction of MCA discipline in the university is to make the students eligible for productive careers in the field of the software industry. It includes the courses which help the students to provide them an outstanding environment for teaching and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline. After getting the degree in this discipline, the candidates can pursue their career in the field of computer software development.

How to apply for Ignou MCA admission 2019?
To apply for Ignou MCA admission, the students have to fill up application form online. Students need to register them at the Ignou online admission portal. Also, the students have to upload the prescribed supporting documents online as well. Ignou MCA Fees Structure
The total fee of Master of computer applications programme offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University is Rs. 64,800/-. Students do not need to pay the complete fee at the time of admission.They have to pay fee @Rs. 10,800/- per semester.
It’s a three-year master degree programme which has been divided into six semesters. So, the students have to pay the fee till the sixth semester. Those students who do not have read Mathematics as a subject in the graduation have to pay Rs.1,200/- additional in the first semester.
How to pay Ignou MCA admission fee?
There are two ways in which the applicants can pay their admission fee. But it depends on the method of admission they choose.
If the student applies for admission via offline mode, then the fee has to be paid by means of demand draft. The DD should be made from the nationalized bank in favour of Ignou and payable at the city of the regional centre where the applicant is applying for admission.
If the learner chooses the online method of admission, then they have to pay the Ignou MA Education fee online by making use of their credit/ debit card.

Ignou MCA Syllabus & Courses
The Indira Gandhi National Open University has divided its distance MCA syllabus into six semesters. The total number of courses in Master of Computer applications programme are 31 which are divided into six semesters. It includes various theory as well as practical lab courses.
Each course has some credit value associated with it which specifies how much time student should allot to study that particular course. It should be noted that 1 credit is equivalent to 30 study hours.
