IGNOU PhD / MPHIL Entrance Result 2019

The Indira Gandhi National Open University has finally declared the result of M.Phil/Ph.D entrance test.Earlier, the entrance exam was conducted on 7 April 2019 to shortlist candidates for admission to these programmes.

The university has published the link on its official website where candidates can check their result to know whether they have qualified the examination or not.To check the result, they must enter their nine digit enrollment number which was mentioned on their admit card.

There are few important points about Ignou PhD / M.Phil entrance result. These are mentioned below:

• The entrance test is qualifying in nature.
• If any candidate qualifies the entrance test, then it does not entitle him/her to claim the admission in the Research Programme.
• The candidates securing atleast 50% marks in the entrance test for General and OBC (45% marks in the case of SC/ST/PH) will be short listed for the Interview in order of merit to be conducted by the respective School of Studies.
• The admission will be offered to the candidate only on the basis of merit, eligibility and interview.
• As per the amendment to UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/PhD Degree) (2nd Amendment) Regulations, 2018, a weightage of seventy percent (70%) to the Entrance Test and thirty percent (30%) to performance in Interview shall be given.

There are many candidates who had earlier appeared in the Ph.D/M.Phil entrance test. The entrance exam was conducted to shortlist candidates for admission to Research Programmes (M.Phil/Ph.D) offered by the university in the regular mode in its July 2019 session. These candidates can now check their result online.
