IGNOU BCA 2025 – Eligibility, Fee, Duration

IGNOU BCA is a professional Bachelor Degree programme which has been designed and developed for those learners who have completed the school level education of 10+2 or its equivalent and wish to make their career in the field of Computers and IT industry.

Full Form of BCA – Bachelor of Computer Applications

It is a right programme for those learners who wish to do the job after completing their graduation instead of going for higher studies.

After completing the Bachelor degree in computer applications, the learners can make their career in Information and Technology or ITES industry.

Scope of Ignou BCA programme

There are a lot of job opportunities for BCA students in metro cities like Delhi-NCR, Banglore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, etc. Also, after completing the BCA from Ignou, the students who wish to go for higher studies can take IGNOU admission in Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme in any university as the bachelor degree in computer applications from IGNOU is valid all over India and abroad.

Duration of Programme

There is a minimum duration of 3 years to complete all the BCA courses/subjects. But the university also provides some relaxation to students so that they can complete their degree in a maximum of 6 years duration.

IGNOU BCA Eligibility Criteria

To become eligible for admission in IGNOU Bachelor of Computer Applications programme, the candidates must adhere following eligibility conditions:

10+2 or its equivalent qualification

or

A pass in a Diploma in Commercial Practice or its equivalent.

IGNOU BCA Fee Structure

The total fee for the entire BCA programme is Rs. 48,000/-, which is to be paid in semester-wise installments of Rs. 8,000/- per semester. Please note, for the 1st semester, students are required to pay Rs. 8,000/- along with a one-time registration fee of Rs. 300/-.
